German three-time season winner Katharina Schmid in second place behind Slovenia's Prevc

Slovenia's Nika Prevc soared a hill record to emulate her brother en route to her second season victory in the women's World Cup on Saturday.

World Cup champion Prevc got the record with 140 metres on the Engelberg large hill and added 134.5 metres in the second round. Her brother Domen Prevc holds the men's record with 144m on the Swiss hill.

German three-time season winner Katharina Schmid trailed by 10.9 points in second place with 135m and 123.5m. Norway's Thea Minyan Bjoerseth completed the podium in third.

"I’m really happy (with the hill record) that it’s another great achievement and it’s a first hill record for me,” Prevc told the rulinng body FIS. "I feel really good here in Engelberg."

Schmid remains top in the World Cup with three wins and two runner-up finishes from the five contested events.

In the Nordic combined World Cup in Ramsau, Austria, Germany's Vinzenz Geiger claimed a third season victory while Norwegian World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber had to be content with sixth.

A men's large hill event was scheduled for later Saturday in Engelberg along with the completion of a women's Nordic combined event in Ramsau.
